Maintenance Advisor Software – MAS
for Power Plants

Maintenance Advisor Software (MAS) consists of the following four modules:

  •  (1) MAS Base-Load PP” - deals with the maintenance issues related to Base Load operation of conventional Power Plant.
  •  (2)  MAS Cycling PP” - deals with the maintenance issues related to Cyclic operation of conventional Power Plant.
  •  (3) MAS Base-Load HRSG” - deals with the maintenance issues related to Base Load operation of Heat Recovery Steam Generators.
  •  (4) MAS Cycling HRSG” - deals with the maintenance issues related to Cyclic operation of Heat Recovery Steam Generators.

This software has been developed to provide power plant operators and engineers with information related to the maintenance of various plant components, the likelihood of failure, component damage and failure mechanisms most likely to affect a particular component under specific plant operating conditions and more importantly the plant operating and maintenance strategies that the plant staff may adopt to minimise/eliminate these damages and hence reduce operating/maintenance costs. This information has been provided in a simple to follow format as follows:

· Key engineering threats/damages,

· Operational constraint,

· Technical solutions and actions to minimise the damage and plant operating costs.

This software is an invaluable guide for good plant maintenance both for new and experienced staff. It provides a plant engineer with a wealth of information and direct and easy to find answers at the touch of a button thus saving costs in terms of manpower and reduced maintenance and forced outage.
