Review of New Steels (P91, P92, T/P23, T/P24, P122)

Plant and R&D Experience

In view of the widespread interest in the new high strength steels (P91, P92, E911, P/T23, P/T24, P122), and especially the recent cracking and failures in P91 worldwide, ETD have conducted and just finished  (October 2006) a survey of plant and research work and produced a very large report  -183 pages long which contains 11 major Sections and 110 References (including Appendices). It reviews findings from plant experience around the world and publications right up to September 2006. It also contains large chapters on welding, welding consumables, weld performance, inspection, monitoring and integrity/ life assessment issues for these steels.

The report answers many of the questions that plant operators, steel producers, plant manufacturers, service providers and welding organisations may have. It may also help them to make successful and more informed choice of materials for their both thick and thin section high temperature plant components.
