Offer of courses in the UK / Other Countries / Your Organisation
ETD offers training courses, with worked examples, on a wide variety of topics such as those shown below. A combination of modules can be offered on request and tailored to client needs to suit the existing experience, skill level and knowledge base of the client’s staff. These modules can also be customised in scope and structure, and new modules added to meet a client’s precise requirements.
The contents of a course will emphasise the current understanding, supported by references for further reading, and will highlight new and most recent areas of interest. As an added attraction, after the completion of the course, ETD can offer its clients follow up advice on literature, and help its engineers with worked examples and correspondence tutorials.
Typical Topics include:
·    Plant Life Extension and Remaining Life Assessment (Power, Petrochemical, Waste Incineration, Process Plant)
·    Component Replication, Creep/ Rupture Specimen Tests and Life Quantification/ Assessment
·    Performance of Welded Components
·    Power Plant Operation, Maintenance and Efficiency Improvement
·    Cyclic / Two Shifting Operation of Power Plant (Conventional, CCGTs/ HRSGs and Maintenance Related Issues
·    HRSG Technology (Materials, Welding, Inspection, Water Chemistry)
·    Defect Assessment in Industrial Plant (Defect Assessment Procedures, Fracture Mechanics, Continuum Damage Mechanics)
·    New Materials for Boilers and Turbines
·   Failure Analysis of Industrial Plant

Recent examples include:
·   A one-week course presented by two ETD experts to Malaysian Institute for Nuclear Technology.
·     A two-week course presented by three ETD experts to an industrial client in China.
·     A series of three courses over three weeks presented by ETD experts to a client in Portugal.
·     A series of two-day courses presented annually by ETD experts in London.  Industry engineers have attended from Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and USA.  Topics include operational issues of power and petrochemical plant, failure mechanisms, behaviour and assessment of welded components, fracture mechanics, probabilistic and sensitivity analysis in creep and fatigue, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and Risk Based Maintenance.
