The ECCC member organisations’ brief descriptions are given below. Out of a total of 42 organisations participating, 17 are industrial organisations, 21 are research institutes and 4 are universities. Thirteen countries are represented and these are Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden and UK.

The conditions of participation by the partner organisations and their rights (IPR) and obligations on the data contributed to ECCC Network are explained in the ECCC Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that each participating country has to sign.

Some organisations which do not have the right to the ECCC partners' data but which will like to see the final analysis and results and make input in terms of their country experience are given 'observer' status. The terms and conditions for joining and the observers' rights and obligations are in the Observers' Agreement.

Additional user groups/partners can join ECCC through their national representatives, which are appointed by the national participating group of each country.
